_ One of the participants in my study was a Danish/Swedish male with blue eyes and curly blonde hair. During his developmental years he self-identified as Black because he grew up south of Chicago in mixed racial neighborhoods and found he was most influenced by the Black culture. But now he self-identifies as Navajo because he has been living and working on the reservation for more than 25 years! He suggested that all human beings are part of the rainbow of races, including Whites.
